PC Resources
The Functions of a PC
The Precinct Committeeperson (PC) serves as a representative of the Democratic Party at the most local level; their precinct/neighborhood. PCs are an information resource for the neighborhood to ensure the people in their area know what the Democrats are doing, and provide resources & info on how to get involved.
Don’t be intimidated – it’s not that hard! If you can do everything listed on this page, that’s great! If you have a busy schedule and can only participate in some of these activities – that’s okay too! We need volunteers, so if you’re at all inclined to help, please consider becoming a PC.
Ways to stay informed:
- Attend LD8 meetings and participate in voting. Monitor the LD8 Calendar for recurring and special meeting information.
- We use MiniVan (a smartphone app) to do canvassing. Canvassing is walking door-to-door in neighborhoods to engage Democrats and Democrat-supporting voters to inform voters, collect signatures, or help get-out-the vote during elections. MiniVan canvassing training is available on YouTube. Check for canvassing events on the LD8 calendar. Become familiar with Democratic candidates running and help them collect signatures on nominating petitions, assist with fundraising, etc.
- Voter registration programs and opportunities may be found on the LD8 events calendar. Voter registration training is available on YouTube. Become familiar with the the resources on BeBallotReady.vote and on the Maricopa County Elections site here and here.
- Speak with interested friends and neighbors about serving as a PC, joining a committee, or becoming volunteer. Contact our Chair, Steven Jackson – or Kendra Flory, co-chairs of the PC Engagement Committee to get involved.
- Donations to our LD8 are greatly appreciated and allow us to carry out our mission for Democratic candidates, up and down the ballot. Please consider providing a monthly, recurring donation. Donate here.

Get Out The Vote (GOTV)
Our legislative district is a diverse and dynamic area, home to one of the nation’s largest public universities, a significant tribal community, and neighborhoods representing a wide range of ages and socioeconomic statuses. To ensure Democratic engagement and strong turnout at the polls, we are supporting a comprehensive Get Out the Vote (GOTV) effort that includes local advocacy for Democratic candidates, mailers, texting and social media, PC engagement, and other activities.
